ABOUT XCEL LEADERSHIP GROUP

Helping Businesses Grow Stronger From the Inside Out

Xcel Leadership Group helps business owners strengthen the people, leadership, and ways of working that allow a company to grow without becoming more dependent on the owner.

Founded by leadership consultant and coach Vicky Barto, Xcel brings together more than 25 years of experience in leadership development, organizational growth, people strategy, and process improvement.

The work is practical, personal, and grounded in one belief:

A growing business should become easier to lead—not harder to hold together.

Why Xcel Leadership Group Exists

Growing a business creates opportunity, but it also exposes what the business has outgrown. Managers who were once strong individual contributors are suddenly expected to lead people. Processes that worked well with a smaller team begin to break down as the organization expands. Responsibilities become less clear, decisions move upward, and the owner often becomes the person connecting everything that no longer connects on its own.

Throughout her career in growing and complex organizations, Vicky saw this pattern repeatedly. The problem was rarely that people were not working hard enough. More often, the business had simply grown faster than its leadership practices, accountability systems, and ways of working. Xcel Leadership Group was created to help close that gap.

When those three things strengthen together, the entire business becomes more capable.

Strong Leaders

Develop people who can make decisions, address issues, and take greater responsibility for results.

Clearer Ownership

Make responsibilities, expectations, and accountability easier for everyone to understand.

Better Ways of Working

Create practical workflows and operating practices that allow work to move forward more consistently.

When those three things strengthen together, the entire business becomes more capable.

Experience That Goes Beyond One Business Function

Vicky’s career has always lived at the intersection of people and business performance.

She began in human resources, where she learned firsthand how hiring, communication, leadership, employee development, and organizational systems affect one another.

As her career expanded, so did the scope of her work.

She moved into leadership development, talent strategy, organizational improvement, process improvement, growth initiatives, and mergers and acquisitions—giving her a broad view of what helps organizations succeed and what causes them to become unnecessarily difficult to run.

That range of experience continues to shape Xcel today.

Business Problems Are Rarely as Simple as They First Appear

One of the most important lessons Vicky learned throughout her career is that the visible problem is not always the real problem.

A business may believe it has an employee problem when the real issue is unclear expectations.

A manager may appear reluctant to delegate when decision authority has never been clearly defined.

A workflow may repeatedly fail because ownership changes every time the work moves between people.

And an owner may feel overwhelmed not because the business needs more people—but because too much responsibility still travels through one person.

Insight 1

What looks like a people problem may actually be a leadership problem.

Insight 3

What looks like a delegation problem may actually be a clarity problem.

Insight 2

What looks like a workflow problem may actually be an ownership problem.

Insight 4

What looks like an owner-capacity problem may actually be a business-design problem.

That is why we diagnose before we prescribe.

We take the time to understand what is actually happening before recommending what should change.

Practical Solutions Built Around the Reality of Your Business

We do not believe small and growing businesses need more complexity.

They need clarity.

That means our work starts with understanding how your business actually operates—not how a textbook says it should operate.

We listen to what is happening.

We ask questions that get beneath the symptoms.

We look at how leadership, people, accountability, and workflow are affecting one another.

Then we build practical solutions around the realities of your team and business.

Clarity

People perform better when priorities, responsibilities, expectations, and decision authority are clear.

Integrity

We will tell you what we see—even when the answer is not the easiest or most obvious one.

Growth

Development should result in stronger people, stronger execution, and a stronger business—not simply more information.

Empowerment

Our goal is to build capability inside your organization, not create dependence on a consultant.

Legacy

The strongest businesses are built to succeed beyond the involvement of any one individual.
